Butter Garlic Prawns

Recipe

Region/ cuisine: Continental

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp chopped garlic

  • 2 chopped chillies

  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • Cheese (for grating, optional)

  • Salt (to taste)

  • Pepper (to taste)

  • Oil (for cooking)

  • 5 Tiger prawns, peeled and deveined

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Prawns:

    • In a bowl, combine 1 tsp chopped garlic, 1 tsp chopped chillies, 1 tsp chopped coriander, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, and 1 tsp oil.

    • Add the prawns to the marinade and mix well to ensure they are evenly coated.

    • Let the prawns marinate for about 10 minutes.

  2. Cook the Prawns:

    • Heat a pan over medium heat and add 1 tsp butter.

    • Add the marinated prawns to the pan and cook until they are 90% done. This should take about 2-3 minutes per side.

    • Transfer the prawns to a dish and set aside.

  3. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In the same pan, add 1 tbsp butter and 1 tsp oil. This combination helps prevent the butter from burning.

    • Add the remaining chopped garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.

    • Stir in the chopped chilies and coriander, mixing them well.

    • Season with additional salt and pepper to taste, and mix thoroughly.

  4. Combine and Finish:

    • Return the partially cooked prawns to the pan and toss them with the garlic butter mixture. Cook until the prawns are fully cooked and coated with the sauce.

    • If using cheese, grate it over the prawns and mix until it melts and combines with the sauce.

  5. Serve:

    • Transfer the Butter Garlic Prawns to a serving dish.

    • Garnish with extra chopped coriander if desired.

    • Serve immediately and enjoy!
