Chicken Momos Recipe

Who doesn’t love momos? They are available on almost every street corner in every metropolitan city of India. The word momo is derived from the Tibetan word mog mog(མོག་མོག). Momos are basically stuffed vegetables or meat wrapped in a dough either steamed or fried and served with a dipping sauce.







Recipe

Region/ cuisine: Tibet

Main Ingredients:

For Dough:

Maida 1 cup

Cooking oil 2 tbsp

Salt 1/3 tsp


For Stuffing:

Chicken 200 gms, salt to taste or 1 tsp, soy sauce 1 tbsp, black pepper powder 1/3 tsp, spring onion chopped 1/4 cup, green chilli chopped 3 , garlic chopped 4 cloves,

cooking oil 1 tbsp


For Chutney:

2 tomatoes, 2 green chillies, salt, 5 garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp soy sauce, vinegar 1/2 tsp,

1 tsp red chili powder for color.


Process

For Dough:- Take maida and add salt and oil, mix it well and later add little water and make a soft and smooth dough. Cover it and keep for 10 min

For Stuffing:- In a pan add oil. Add chicken, salt, spring onions, green chilies, garlic, soy sauce and black pepper powder, Saute it till the chicken is cooked to perfection.

Once cooked, keep the mixture aside to cool.

Take the dough now and make equal size balls and roll it into thin puri.

Add the above mixture in the puri and close it and let it steam for 15 min on medium flame.


For Chutney:

Microwave the tomatoes for 2 min, remove the skin. Add it into a blender, add the green chillies,salt, garlic cloves,soy sauce, vinegar and red chili powder. Blend it till it is little thick.
